Krishna Janmashtami also known simply as janmashtami or Gokulashtami is an annual hindu

festival celebrates the birthday of Krishna, the 8th avatar of Vishnu. It is observed according to Hindu Lunisolar calendar , on the 8th day of the krishna Paksha, which overlaps with August & September.
It's a religious (1-2 days) cultural festive. Observed by Hindus in India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Thindad and tobago, Guyana, Suriname, other parts of Caribbean, Fiji, Maurities , South Africa, Other parts of Africa & tge United Kingdom,  the United State. The day observed by Dance-drama, puja, night vigil & fasting.

According to the alcohols law of India,
All other Indian states permit alcohol consumption but fix a legal drinking age, which ranges at different ages per region. In some states, the legal drinking age can be different for different types of alcoholic beverage.
In spite of legal restrictions, alcohol consumption in India has risen over 55% over a period of 20 years.
Dry Days are specific days when the sale of alcohol is not permitted. Most of the Indian states observe these days on major national festivals/occasions such as Republic Day (January 26), Independence Day (August 15) and Gandhi Jayanti (October 2)Dry days are also observed on and around voting day.

In some states janmashtami is following to a dry day. In this day alcohols are strictly not permitted.
